|softeners | how the softening process works
TECHNOLOGY
The AD group - automatic softening systems remove the water hardness caused by calcium and magnesium ions by using an ion exchange process. Hard water flows through a column filled with a cation exchanger resin which retains calcium and magnesium ions and releases sodium ions.
When all the exchanging capacity of the resin is exhausted, the column is regenerated by using a brine flow.
In the D series, when all the exchanging capacity of the 1st column's resin is used up, that one is regenerated by using a brine flow. In the meantime, the 2nd column start to work.
MODELS
T series Automatic time regeneration
V series Automatic volumetric regeneration
D series Automatic double column softener
The D series allows a continuous flow of softened water.
