SM Series
Calcium, magnesium, iron, silica, manganese, barium and chloride salts, combined with carbonates, bicarbonates and sulphates, are present in increasing quantities in water drawn from wells. They cause scaling and clogging in cooling circuits, reduce heat transfer in steam generators and pollute groundwater.
Based on molecular separation, reverse osmosis allows for the production of extremely pure water, eliminating up to 99.5% of the salts contained therein.
The reverse osmosis process has now replaced demineralisation in thermal power plants, offering significantly superior characteristics, which are listed below.
No regeneration required
The system operates continuously at a constant flow rate 24 hours a day, therefore there is no need for duplicate equipment to meet production requirements.
Water produced at consistent quality
While the demineraliser shows an increase in the salinity of the water produced between the start and end of the cycle, a reverse osmosis system always produces water with low values (10 ÷ 15 µS/cm).
No acid or soda required
Non-polluting
Lowest operating costs
No calibration or checks required during operation
Easy to operate
Compact size
These reasons are more than sufficient to justify a technology that has been used in industry for over 30 years.
Idroconsult reverse osmosis systems are supplied in monobloc units that are pre-assembled and tested electrically and hydraulically.
